Why our prices are public.
We'd rather you see the numbers before you call than after. The table on our homepage is the same one we quote against, from a small box bedroom to a full hall, stairs and landing. Standard trade paint and labour are always included - if something comes in above the guide, we say why before we start, not on the invoice.
Family run, not a franchise.
Deal Painter is a small operation focused entirely on domestic decorating. You won't get handed off to a subcontracted crew you've never met partway through the job.

Deal changes character fast as you move away from the front. The seafront and Middle Street conservation area carry Georgian and Victorian brick terraces and older joinery that need breathable coatings and the right primer on sash windows, or they stick within a season. Properties near the sea also cope with more airborne salt and damp than a house a mile inland, which shows up in how paint and plaster hold indoors. Further out towards Sholden and Great Mongeham, it's mostly modern estate housing that behaves like anywhere else. We prep and quote differently depending on where the property actually sits, not on a single assumption about "old Deal houses."
How we quote.
Photos of the room over WhatsApp or email are usually enough for a firm price against the published table. On period properties or anything unusual we'll come out for a look first. Quotes are fixed once agreed - if we uncover something unexpected once we start (damp behind old paper, movement cracks needing proper filling), we flag it, price it separately, and confirm before continuing.
